Instructions

1. Heat olive oil or butter in a large pan over medium heat. Sauté onions, garlic, and carrots until soft (5–6 minutes).
2. Add chopped tomatoes, vegetable broth, salt, pepper, sugar, and chili flakes. Simmer for 15 minutes until vegetables are fully cooked.
3. Remove from heat and blend the mixture until smooth using a blender or immersion blender.
4. Return the soup to the pan and stir in cream (if using). Heat gently for 2–3 minutes.
5. Adjust seasoning as needed.
